Why mining company choose to list in HK?


In July 2012, London Metal Exchange (LME) was acquired by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx). Material, mining and energy companies have long been the majority of new shares in the Hong Kong stock market. After the acquisition, these companies are able to utilize LME in addition to the HKEx as their trading platform under the arrangement of HKEx and therefore, it can be foreseen that companies these industries will participate more actively in Hong Kong’s market. Moreover, the Chinese Government has recently implemented a series of policies, aiming at to promote the development of Hong Kong as a RMB Offshore Center. Under the favourable environment, Hong Kong will certainly become one of the most important cities bridging the Chinese and Western mining industry in the coming future.
